Description
Ferric Trichloride Description:
It is an inorganic compound with the formula (FeCl3). It is a common compound of iron in the +3 oxidation state. The anhydrous compound is a crystalline solid with a melting point of 307.6 °C. The color depends on the viewing angle: by reflected light, the crystals appear dark green, but by transmitted light, they appear purple-red.
Melting Point 282 °C. It has a boiling point of about 316 °C and is corrosive to metals.
Storage:
Sealed, dried, preserved.
Application:
- Organic synthesis catalyst. Analysis of copper, selenium, and arsenic, as indicators for the determination of phenol, cholesterol, and choline.
- Used in sewage treatment, circuit board etching, stainless steel etching, and mordant, it is a good substitute for solid iron trichloride. HPFCS high purity type is used for high requirement cleaning and etching in the electronic industry.
- Liquid iron trichloride is an effective and cheap flocculant for municipal sewage and Industrial wastewater treatment, the utility model has the advantages of heavy metal and sulfide precipitation, decolorization, deodorization, oil removal, sterilization, phosphorus removal, COD and BOD reduction of effluent, etc.
